Controversial Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has lashed out at his party for not paying heed to his candidate recommendations for the upcoming assembly polls.
In a tweet Nirupam claimed he is getting an impression that the Congress does not want his services anymore. He added that even after recommending just one name for the upcoming assembly polls, the party chose not to take his advice and rejected it.
It seems Congress Party doesnât want my services anymore. I had recommended just one name in Mumbai for Assembly election. Heard that even that has been rejected.

As I had told the leadership earlier,in that case I will not participate in poll campaign.
Its my final decision.
As a result of this snub Nirupam has now vowed not to participate in his party’s poll campaign - a decision he had earlier conveyed to the party leadership.
During his career in politics, Nirupam has notched quite a few controversies. Most recently he had called Prime Minister Modi anpadh, gawaar (illiterate, uncouth). He had also posted a sexist tweet against BJP leader Smriti Irani and had equated the Karnataka governor with a dog.
