Congress President Kharge Praises 'Rajasthan Model', Signals Continuation Of Ashok Gehlot As CM

Newly elected Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge praised Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the policies of his government.

This comes a day after Sachin Pilot called on Kharge to take disciplinary action against rebel leaders who created the Rajasthan Congress crisis.

According to Hindustan, Kharge said, "Rajasthan has emerged as a model state. One crore people are beneficiaries of social pension schemes. Pensions worth Rs 29,724 crore have already been released."

Claiming that the effectiveness of social security schemes is making Rajasthan a model state, he said that the Congress government there is taking every possible step to lead the state towards progress.

The praises seem to ensure that Gehlot will continue as the state CM.

Earlier too, Kharge had negated the need for any change by saying, “There is no immediate crisis. We have an elected Chief Minister who is in place and who is doing good work.”

Pilot took a dig at Gehlot on Wednesday (2 November) over PM Narendra Modi praising Rajasthan CM by comparing Gehlot with ex-Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

However, it appears that his complaints fell on deaf ears as the Congress high command seems to be satisfied with the status quo in Rajasthan.
