Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today clarified that no money was spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fitness video made for the 'Fitness Challenge' and posted on Twitter.

The minister’s clarification came after many Congress leaders, including former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, posted an article on Twitter calming Rs 35 lakh were spent to shoot the video for the fitness challenge.

“It was recorded by PMO videographer,” Rathore said on Twitter.

On 13 June, a week before the Yoga Day, the Prime Minister Modi had tweeted a video of him performing yoga. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli had nominated the Prime Minister for the fitness challenge. The fitness challenge was started by Rathore as part of the ‘Hum Fit to India Fit’ campaign.
