Crackers Not The Problem? Air Quality in Delhi Remains ‘Very Poor’ As Smog Blankets Parts Of City

Data released by System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) today (Thursday, 29 November) showed that air quality in Delhi has remained at ‘very poor’ level, with the city experiencing shallow fog as well. Temperatures dipped to as much as 12.2 degrees Celsius, two points above the season’s average minimum, reports the Financial Express.

“The city witnessed shallow fog in the morning and it will continue in the later part of the day. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was high at 93 per cent,” according to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum temperature is estimated to touch 28 degrees Celsius today. Images of Rajpath and India Gate tweeted by ANI showed that thick blankets of smog had enveloped parts of New Delhi.

The minimum temperature today is down at 12.2 degrees from 13.5 degrees yesterday, while the maximum is almost unchanged at 28 degrees from yesterday’s 28.1 degrees.
