Fissures in the Delhi unit of the Congress grew wider on Saturday (13 July) with 29 prominent leaders of the party writing to Rahul Gandhi complaining about the 'complete state of confusion' in the Delhi Congress, reports ANI.

The letter sent to Gandhi read, "It seems that some confidants of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president in Delhi are deliberately helping the BJP and the AAP. We pray for the good health and long-life of the PCC president Shiela Dikshit, who is currently hospitalised. However, there is complete confusion as to who is running the PCC in her absence."

The letter to Gandhi comes after the three working presidents of the Congress party in Delhi and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Delhi, P C Chacko wrote to Dikshit about their disapproval over her 'unauthorised' appointment of 14 District Congress Committee Observers and 280 Block Congress Committee Observers without consulting them.

The letter also stressed that the three working presidents of the party in Delhi, Rajesh Lilothia, Devender Yadav and Haroon Yusuf were not being consulted in any of the recent decision making in the PCC. Thus, the 29 leaders expressed concern over who was operating from behind the scenes.
