In a video published by ANI, Kejriwal was seen happily waiving at the crowd amidst chanting supporters and suddenly a man in a red shirt leaped up in the air and swung his army by at least 120 degrees in full force to try and belt one on the Delhi Chief Minister.
Kejriwal though displayed great reflexes and managed to partially get out of the way, which meant that his left shoulder bore the biggest brunt of the assault.
The attack resulted in a volley of abuses by Kejrwal supporters who then pulled down the attack from Kejriwal’s jeep and supposedly proceeded to assault him. The attacker has been identified as 33-year-old Suresh who is a spare parts dealer in the city.
He is said to have been very angry at the AAP leader and was waiting for his moment to attack.
Incidentally, Kejriwal was also slapped in a similar manner almost five years ago but that time the blow was struck clean on his cheek.
A few days prior to the latest attack, Kejriwal was allegedly beaten up his own party MLAs a few days ago at his residence over a disagreement, rebel AAP leader and Delhi MLA Kapil Mishra had claimed.
This supposedly also resulted in Kejriwal not leaving his home for a few days till his wounds healed.
