Recep Tayyip Erdoğan led Turkey is now facing increasing heat for its invasion in Northern Syria as France and Germany have halted their arms export to the country, Times of Israel has reported.
This invasion in Northern Syria against Kurdish fighters who were instrumental in battling ISIS has drawn the ire of the international community.
France has decided to suspend all weapon sales to Turkey with immediate effect and termed the latter’s actions a threat to European security.
Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas similarly asserted that his nation won’t give any new permission for weapons which may be used by Turkey in Russia.
US President Donald Trump has been accused of abandoning the Kurdish resistance by allowing Turkey to invade Northern Syria, which has also been condemned by Arab leaders.
Indian Foreign Ministry had earlier issued a statement denouncing Turkey’s unilateral offensive against Kurds and urged it to respect Syria’s sovereignty.
