Registering an all-new Guinness World Record, the city of Ayodhya on Saturday (26 October) night lit up a record four lakh earthen lamps along the banks of the Saryu river, reports News18.

The development could be realised as the state administration led by Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath organised the third and the largest Deepotsava in Ayodhya after having come to power in March 2017, each year, lighting more earthen lamps than the previous year.

The event which last year saw the first lady of the Republic of South Korea in attendance as its chief guest, this year had the Indo-Fijian Assistant Manager and Deputy Speaker of the Republic of Fiji, Veena Kumar Bhatnagar gracing the occasion as its chief guest.

Having been declared a state event by the state administration, the event was attended by Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel along with CM Adityanath who on the occasion also announced the launch of several developmental projects for Ayodhya, worth Rs 226 crore.
