Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Monday (25 March) took into custody defence agent Sushen Mohan Gupta, who is alleged to have played a role in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP choppers deal case, from Delhi, under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), reports DNA.

Gupta’s name surfaced in the case following disclosures made by Rajiv Saxena, who has turned approver in the matter following his deportation from the UAE. It is believed that Gupta could possess some payment details relating to the VVIP choppers deal, but the exact connection is yet to be revealed.

The defence agent is just the latest among a number of individuals who have been picked up for their involvement in the case; lawyer Gautam Khaitan and alleged British middleman Christian Michel were taken into custody by the ED prior to him.
