Delhi Police Issues Shoot At Sight Order In Yamuna Vihar, S N Shrivastava Appointed As Special Commissioner

The Delhi police on Tuesday evening (25 February) issued a shoot at sight order in the city’s Yamuna Vihar area after fresh violence broke out in Jafrabad and Maujpur, Times Now has reported.

This was informed to the locals by a Delhi police personnel using a speaker system. The cop also appealed to the people to stay inside their homes and not to unnecessarily come out on the roads. As per the report, the cops were earlier firing tear gas shells in an attempt to bring the situation under control.

In another major development IPS officer S N Shrivastava has been appointed as a special commissioner (Law and Order) in Delhi police by immediate effect.

Shrivastava was currently serving as the Special Director General (Training) CRPF in Delhi but has been repatriated back to the Delhi police in light of the riots in large parts of Northeast Delhi.
