The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to repeat its 2014 performance in Uttarakhand as it is likely to sweep all the five seats in the hill state.

The Congress, on the other hand, despite fielding heavyweight candidates like former state chief minister Harish Rawat, former MP Pradeep Tamta and its current state chief Pritam Singh, is trailing in the results of all the five Lok Sabha constituencies.

The BJP had fielded its state unit chief Ajay Bhatt against Harish Rawat in Nainital. As per the latest EC data, Bhatt is leading Rawat by a huge margin of 1.7 lakh votes.

In the Tehri Garhwal seat, Congress state unit chief Pritam Singh is trailing BJP’s Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah by around 1.46 lakh votes.

BJP’s former state chief Tirath Singh Rawat is leading Congress’ Manish Khanduri by over 1.6 lakh votes in the Garhwal constituency.

In Almora, there is a margin of over 1.2 lakh votes between the leading BJP candidate Ajay Tamta and Congess’ Pradeep Tamta.

Meanwhile, in the Haridwar constituency, former state CM and BJP’s candidate Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is leading his Congress rival Ambrish Kumar by over 80,000 votes.
