Cricketer and former Indian team captain Rahul Dravid has asked people to not ‘overreact’ to the Koffee with Karan controversy involving cricketers K L Rahul and Hardik Pandya, reports Deccan Herald.

Both the talented cricketers were suspended pending an inquiry by the Board of Control for Cricket, following the sexist comments made by them on the controversial chat show. The duo was also sent packing from the Indian team’s tour in Australia.

“It is not that players did not make mistakes in the past. It is not that mistakes will not be made in the future, despite our best efforts to educate the youth. But let us not overreact please,” said Dravid.

The former captain also said that the counselling process which was conducted prior to the last two under-19 World Cup tournaments should be improvised.

“We need to keep refining and keep getting better. We can only try to ensure, but we are not in a position to completely take charge or be responsible for every action of the player," he added.
