A group of angry drivers of buses arranged by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra chanted anti-Congress slogans like Congress Murdabad after alleging that they received poor quality food, ABP News has reported.
The report claimed that the drivers who are stranded at the Bharatpur-Agra border for the past 3-4 days slammed the Congress after claiming that they were either receiving no food or poor quality food.
During their protest the drivers raised anti-Congress slogans like Congress Party Murdabad.
“Hum public ko bachane ke liye aaye hain to humko kyun mara ja raha hai, hamare bacche, maa-baap nahin hain kya (We have come to save the people but why are our lives being risked, do we not have kids or parents)“, one protesting driver was quoted as saying.
This development comes amid a row between the Congress and the Uttar Pradesh government after the former reportedly tried to pass off auto-rickshaws and cars as buses.
A spokesperson for the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that 297 out of the list of 1,000 buses submitted by the Congress lack proper papers like a fitness certificate or vehicle insurance.
The spokesperson also said that 100 out of the 1,000 vehicles are not buses are are purportedly smaller vehicles like autos and cars.
