Parle-G has reached a milestone during the Covid-19 pandemic. The household brand -- also known as the common man's biscuit for decades, has sold the maximum number of biscuits during the lockdown to fight coronavirus.

March, April and May -- the three months since the nationwide lockdown was announced to fight the pandemic, have seen the sales soaring -- the best in over 80 years.

Parle Products, which creates the Parle-G label, has not shared the "specific sales statistics".

The biscuit seems to have done well and better than other others in the market during the lockdown as it was stacked by the common man, donated and distributed, too.

Shah has said that they had "several state governments requisitioning us for biscuits… they were in constant touch with us, asking about our stock positions."

Parle G, it has been reported, restarted production from March 25 onwards. It tackled challenges in distribution during the lockdown.

Shah has been quoted saying, "During the lockdown, Parle-G became the comfort food for many; and for several others it was the only food they had on them. This is a common man’s biscuit; people who cannot afford bread – buy Parle-G.”

This report states that Parle G was staring at a roller coaster ride during the month of April and May. It activated the 120 manufacturers spread across the country.
