Elderly Baba Ka Dhaba Owner Files Case Against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan Alleging That He Siphoned Off Donations

Kanti Prasad, the elderly 80-year-old co-owner of Baba Ka Dhaba has filed a complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan amid allegations that the latter siphoned off donations made in Prasad's name and only gave a fraction of the sum to Baba Ka Dhaba.

The complaint has been filed under sections pertaining to cheating, mischief, criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and misappropriation of funds.

It may be recalled that it was Wasan who runs the YouTube channel Swad Official who had first highlighted the plight of Baba Ka Dhaba owner. The video soon went viral and many well meaning citizens expressed their willingness to donate and help Prasad and his wife.

As per reports, Prasad has claimed that Wasan intentionally proceeded to share his (Wasan's) and his wife's bank accounts but only forwarded a fraction of donations he received in Prasad's name.

The complaint also claims that Wasan in this process collected huge amount of donation and failed to provide any information of the same to Prasad.

"I was given a little over Rs 2 lakh but I have no information about the rest of the money. The donations were received in the many bank accounts of the accused and his wife", Prasad has been quoted as saying.

He goes on to say that he tried contacting Wasan to disclose his financial records with regards to the total donations received but the latter kept dithering.

Wasan in response has denied the charges and claimed that he received donations to the tune of almost Rs 3.5 lakh, all of which he has transferred to Prasad.
