The newly-formed committee is allowed to hold discussions with respect to the design of the temple and is expected to submit its recommendations to the Trust by 15 December (today). Following this, the construction of the Ram Mandir will begin.
“The committee will review soil investigation carried out by L&T, evaluate the possibility of liquefaction of soil under seismic hazards and suggests safeguard. It would also review precedents of similar structures constructed in the recent past in either India or abroad and whether the methodology would be appropriate for this temple,” the Trust was quoted in the report.
The foundation design of the upcoming temple is yet to be decided upon, though L&T has submitted its prospective version of the same. The company’s outline consists of a plain cement raft placed on 1,200 cement concrete piles with a diameter of 1 meter and depth of 20-40 meters.
