Facebook, delinking its India operations from the Asia-Pacific region, has created a new organisational structure for its India unit with functional heads reporting to the country managing director instead of regional bosses, reports The Economic Times.

As per the new structure, heads of public policy, global marketing solutions, communications, strategy and operations as well as newly formed verticals of partnership will report to Facebook India’s managing director Ajit Mohan instead of respective regional heads in Asia-Pacific.

According to the report, Facebook has hired Prashanth Aluru and Manish Chopra for the newly created roles of director of strategy and operations and director and head of partnerships respectively. Ankhi Das is the head of public policy and Sandeep Bhushan is the director of the global marketing solutions.

Further, the social media giant has also hired Siddharth Banerjee and Archana Vohra as the director of global sales organisation (customer partnerships and agencies) and director of small and medium businesses respectively. Both Banerjee and Vohra will report to Bhushan.

As per the report, Aluru, Chopra, Banerjee and Vohra have joined the company in past six weeks.

According to an spokesperson for Facebook, the move will help its Indian arm to bring in more local accountability, better decision-making and have a closer connection with its headquarters.
