‘Feel Threatened DK Shivakumar May Storm Into The Hotel’: Rebel Karnataka MLAs Seek Protection From Mumbai Police

Ten rebel Karnataka Cogress MLAs who are staying at a hotel in Mumbai have approached the Mumbai police seeking security cover ahead of senior party leader and Karnataka Minister DK Shivakumar's visit to the city, reports Asian News International (ANI).

In the letter written to Mumbai Police, the rebel legislators have claimed that they feel threatened by the thought that Shivakumar may storm into the hotel they are residing in. The visit of Shivakumar to Mumbai was reportedly planned to pacify the disgruntled MLAs.

"We do not want to meet him (Shivakumar), kind request to help us in this matter and do not allow them to enter the hotel premises," said the MLAs in the letter.

The 13-month-old Congress-JD(S) government in Karnataka had been in trouble ever since 11 MLAs from both the parties resigned from the state assembly last week. They were later joined by Congress leader Roshan Baig who resigned from his membership of the state assembly on Tuesday (9 July).
