The final JEE Main ranking would be released after the second JEE examination is conducted in April, as per HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
Javadekar in a Tweet stated that the ranks would be declared after the the second JEE exam. He added that for the first time aspirants have a chance to improve their score which will reduce stress.
He also commended the National Testing Agency (NTA) for publishing the results in a record time of seven days which was well ahead of the planned schedule. In the exam where about 8.75 lakh students appeared, 15 of them received a NTA score of 100.
These scores are normalised across multi session papers and based on the relative performance of all the candidates who appeared in the test. Classified as a “percentile” the NTA score does not reflect the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate.
The final ranks of the candidates would be based on the best of their two JEE Main scores or their sole score if the student chooses to appear in just one exam.
Registration for the April JEE exam would start from 8 February and will continue till 7 March. The test will be conducted in various slots from 6 to 20 April.
