Former top-bureaucrat Jawhar Sircar who was also the CEO of Prasar Bharati and India's Culture Secretary, today (7 June) spread a morphed image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attack him by alleging crony-capitalism. Sircar then proceeded to delete the said tweet after criticism from social media users.
In the tweet, Sircar posted a photo where Prime Minister Modi can allegedly be seen bowing with folded hands before Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani.
Sircar while calling Prime Minister Modi "permanently scowling" alleged the presence of "two-way relationships, favours and transactions".
The picture in question is in-fact not real and the face of Nita Ambani has actually been photo-shopped over the face of social worker Deepika Mondol. The said picture was clicked at Rashtrapati Bhawan in 2018.
Sircar who calls himself a "free soul after 42 years in IAS and the government", proceeded to delete the picture of Prime Minister Modi after being called out.

A former Secretary to Govt of India is intentionally tweeting morphed images to slander PM Modi.@Twitter provides a platform for #ManipulatedMedia and rewards such folks with a âBlue Tickâ to lend credibility to #FakeNews

He has now shared a new tweet claiming that he had "terrible experiences" as two photos he shared of Prime Minister Modi turned out to be fake.
Incidentally, Sircar has also spread fake news in the past which has included erroneously alleging that a portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose unveiled in the Rashtrapati Bhawan was actually that of actor Prasenjit.
This is not Netaji that President unveiled. Itâs a terrible error, as expected from an ignorant regime! It is actor Prasenjit Chatterjee who played his role in a film. How stupid! pic.twitter.com/tKL0gv06IS

He is yet to delete the tweet, despite the lie having been busted.
