Google's flagship email service Gmail and its video sharing platform YouTube appeared have gone down in multiple countries today evening (14 December).
While accessing Gmail users reported a Temporary Error (500) with the message, "We’re sorry, but your account is temporarily unavailable. We apologise for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes. You can view the G Suite Status Dashboard for the current status of the service. If the issue persists, please visit the Help Centre".
Similarly when people tried to access YouTube they received a "something went wrong" message along with a picture of a monkey with a hammer.
As per reports, users have also reported an inability to access services like Google Drive and Google Docs.

The issue is yet to be fixed at the time of the report's publication. The Google search service though is functioning normally.
As pointed out by a twitter user, YouTube is still accessible in Incognito Mode and its Google's authentication service which has gone down. This is likely to explain why people are unable to access the mail and doc service of Google, while being able to access features like Google Search and YouTube which do not need Sign-In.
Youtube is not down, google authentication is down, you can still view youtube in incognito mode.
