Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday (16 June) said the Ram temple issue has been pending for long in the court and that the Central government should bring an ordinance for the construction of the temple at Ayodhya, reports Times of India.

Thackeray, who was in Ayodhya with son Aditya and 18 newly elected MPs of his party, addressed reporters after offering prayers at the makeshift Ram Lalla temple.

“The matter is in Court for a long time. The govt is strong now and we all are together. Modi ji has the courage to take the decision. If the govt takes the decision to build Ram Temple there will be no one to stop it,” Thackeray was quoted by ANI as saying.

"The government should bring an ordinance for construction of Ram temple. Once the government comes up with a law paving way for the temple, Shiv Sainiks will be the first to come forward for construction of grand temple, just like the way they razed Babri Masjid," said the Shiv Sena chief, as reported by TOI.
