After inaugurating a new 280-litre oxygen plant in Gandhinagar's Kolvada Ayurvedic Hospital, Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah yesterday (14 April) announced that Gujarat is set to get 11 all-new PSA oxygen plants in a short while, reports Economic Times.

The new PSA plants have already been sanctioned by the Centre and will begin oxygen production soon, shared Shah. He also said that a 1,200-bed hospital with 600 ICU beds will be available in Gujarat soon. The facility is being built by Tata Sons and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

A day before, Shah had also visited the 900-bed hospital for COVID-19 patients which has been readied at the Gujarat University Convention Centre.

It should be noted that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Shah had contested from Gandhinagar and registered a thumping victory.

Expressing gratitude for his support to the constituency and the State, Chief Minister (CM) Vijay Rupani said that Gujarat will never forget the help provided by Shah in these stressful times. State's Deputy CM Nitin Patel also said, "Expanding the medical facilities in the constituency, Amitbhai has set an example of an ideal MP."
