In a strange turn of events, popular Haryanvi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary has denied joining Congress party after speculations made rounds of her contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Hema Malini in Mathura, reports ANI.
Previously, Times of India reported that Chaudhary had joined Congress party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls yesterday (23 March 2019),
Sources said that she was inducted into the party at the Delhi residence of Uttar Pradesh state Congress chief, Raj Babbar at the assurance of a ticket from Mathura. A formal announcement about the same was expected to be made today after approval from the party high command.
However, contravening all such speculations, the singer categorically denied joining Congress party, adding that the pictures of her with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra being circulated were old and not recent.
Chaudhary shot to limelight with her stage dance on popular Haryanvi song “Teri Aakhya ka yo Kajal"; and rose to national fame after her participation in hit reality TV show Big Boss 11.
