Here Are All The Scenarios India Faces Against New Zealand As Weather Remains Gloomy In Manchester

Continuation of the Cricket World Cup Semi-Final between India and New Zealand may get disrupted today (10 July) as the UK meteorological office has predicted potential thunderstorms in the North-Western part of the country, which includes the Greater Manchester region.

The Semi Final was interrupted yesterday due to rain during the first innings with New Zealand batting at 211 for the loss of five wickets after 46.1 overs. The rain continued late into the evening, leading to the game being postponed to the reserve day (10 July).

Manchester also witnessed light early morning drizzles today (10 July) but the sky is expected to clear up for some time in the morning. As per a regular prediction by the Met office, the weather is expected to remain cloudy, with some scattered thunderstorms 7 PM British Standard Time, thus providing ample window for the match to be completed.

Matters though might turn for the worse as the Met office has also predicted potential thunderstorms 12.00 PM BST to 9.00 PM BST.

So, here are the potential scenarios on the reserve day. In case the weather plays along, the match will begin at the scheduled start time of 11.00 AM BST from the 46.1 over and would be completed in entirety.

In case rain does decided to pour in, the Duckworth-Lewis method will come into play and India’s run chase may be limited to as little as 20 overs. If even that option fails and the match ultimately fails to be completed, India will go through to the finals thanks to its superior position in the round-robin group table.
