5 August was the culmination of a 492 year struggle of millions of Hindus spanning across five centuries, as it marked the dawn of a new era.
Construction of the Ram Mandir will now officially begin after a Bhoomi Pujan was performed at the Janmabhoomi in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ceremony was attended by 175 dignitaries including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
Here are the five most memorable photographs which were clicked on the occasion.
