Metro train operations for the Ameerpet-Hi Tec City stretch of Corridor III will be flagged off by Governor E S L Narasimhan on 20 March (Wednesday) at Ameerpet metro interchange station, and daily train operations are expected to begin from 4 pm on the same day.
The initial frequency of trains on this route will be 9-12 minutes against six minutes in other metro corridors. However, three stations Madhapur, Peddammagudi, and Jubilee Hills Check Post shall not be open for public currently in order to maintain speed and frequency.
Currently efforts are underway to improve the frequency on this stretch which is expected to see a lot of customer demand.
The 10-km stretch which has nine stations, including Ameerpet, shall establish metro rail connectivity to IT/ITES service areas as per reports by The Hindu.
Following a request made by senior officials when they called on him at the Raj Bhavan, the Governor consented to flag off the train operations in a simple ceremony. Opening ceremony shall be low-key with just a few officers in attendance.
