Pinning the blame on the opposition for regular disruption in the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his government was ready to debate but the opposition parties were not allowing for the smooth functioning of the houses.
“Government has always said we are ready to debate. I am not being allowed to speak in Lok Sabha so I am speaking in the Jan Sabha,” ANI quoted Modi as saying. He was speaking at a rally in Deesa, Gujarat. He also cited President Pranab Mukherjee’s anguish over stalled work in Parliament. “Happenings in Parliament anguished our President, who has tremendous political experience,” Modi said.
PM Modi also assured people that those indulging in malpractices during the demonetisation process won’t be spared. He also urged people to adopt e-wallets and digital payments so that they don’t have to waste their time standing outside banks and ATMs.
