IIM Calcutta Ranked Third In The World For Post Graduate Executive Program By Times Higher Education-WSJ Study

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has been ranked third in the world under the category 'Top Tier: One year MBA degrees' for its Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPEX) course, by a Times Higher Education and Wall Street Journal ranking.

As per an India Today report, the one-year executive programme helped the institute gain an overall score of 75.5 compared to the global average of 65.5 while scoring highest in delivering outcomes (85) such as entrepreneurship, social good and network and salary among other factors.

114 institutes from 24 countries were ranked in the survey with a vital part of the survey being the alumni survey, taken by more than 23,000 students from different backgrounds. Twenty individual performance indicators were combined to create an overall score which reflects the strength of the school and its respective programmes to derive a rank.

Captain Gurnur Singh Mahiwal, a PGPEX student, shared his experiences by saying that, "The PGPEX programme has played a pivotal role in my transition from the Armed forces o the corporate sector. The one-year MBA programme which offers a competitive curriculum facilitated by internationally acclaimed faculty has strengthened my business acumen and industry know-how."

Only two institutes from India made it to the listing. The institute was ranked above premium institutes like NUS Business School, Melbourne Business School, HEC Paris, Cranfield School of Management and the S P Jain School of Global Management.
