IIT Delhi, Five CSIR Laboratories Including CEERI And NPL Sign MoU To Promote Collaborative Research

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with five laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to promote collaborative research, reports Indian Express.

IIT Delhi director Professor V Ramgopal Rao on Tuesday (16 July) signed the MoU with directors of five laboratories namely CSIR-advanced materials and processes Research Institute(CSIR-AMPRI), CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments organisation (CSIR-CSIO) , CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) and CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL).

According to the report, the IIT Delhi has planned to start around 60 interdisciplinary research projects with five CSIR laboratories this year.

On this occasion, Rao said that IIT Delhi has been pioneering in providing its faculty and students with world class infrastructure and conducive environment for research.

The IIT Delhi, as part of MoU, plans to promote collaborative research, exchange of ideas, development of knowledge, enhancing high quality research throughput.

As per the report, the MoU would serve as a platform to faculty, students and other research scholars to contribute towards research and development advancement of the nation and fueling its growth.

The research work undertaken through the MoU will make optimum use of already existing infrastructure, expertise and vast experience of IIT Delhi and the participating CSIR laboratories.
