In A First For Indian Football, Star Sports To Telecast India’s AFC Asia Cup 2019 Matches In Six Languages

All the matches of the Indian National Football team in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, will be telecasted in six languages in India, the Television Post reports. Star Sports will broadcast the matches in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.

For the first time, the Indian Football team, in a major international championship, will receive telecast in six different languages. Football fans around the nation have been complaining about Indian Football- both domestic and International not receiving proper telecast.

However, Blue Tigers fans need not worry now as the Asia Cup broadcasting will comprise of complete coverage of the Indian team. Along with the best of football action, fans will also experience commentary from various football experts across languages and special program covering the fan group Blue Pilgrims.

Further, the broadcast will include previews, reviews and analysis of all the matches in the tournament. Commentators John Helm and Paul Masefield will give commentary from the venue.

Star Sports has also included members from the 2011 India’s AFC Asian Cup team, Renedy Singh and Mehrajuddin Wadoo as expert opinions from the in-house studios. Raman Vijayan (Tamil), Jo Paul Ancheri (Malayalam), Debjit Ghosh and Rajat Ghosh Dastidar (Bengali ) and NS Manju (Kannada) will be apart of the broadcast.

India begins their campaign against Thailand (6 January), before facing hosts UAE (10 January) and Bahrain (14 January) in the group stage. Spearheaded by star man Sunil Chhetri, the Indian team will look to move to the round of 16 for the first time since 1964.

Star Sports 3 and Hotstar will provide live telecast of India’s games.
