Officials from the Income Tax (I-T) Department are currently conducting raids at multiple sites across Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandy and Hassan in Karnataka, in what is believed to be a massive operation targeting government officials, contractors, and even a state minister, C S Puttaraju, who belongs to the Janata Dal (Secular) party, reports ANI.

Puttaraju is the Karnataka Minor Irrigation Minister, and is also a Lok Sabha MP from Mandya constituency. As part of the I-T department operation, his residence in Mandya has also been raided.

The contractors and officials who are the targets of the raids today belong to the Public Works Department (PWD) & the Irrigation Department.
