The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight fired its Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) system from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the Odisha coast at 11.45 am today (23 December), reports IndusDictum.

The new surface to air missile met all its mission objectives and was “flight-tested with full configuration in deployment mode intercepting the target mid-air, meeting the mission objectives.”
Ground Telemetry Systems, Range Radar Systems and Electro Optical Tracking System monitored the progress of the missile.
This was the developmental trial of the weapon system and after successful completion the weapon system is expected to be ready for induction by 2021.
