A 30-member contingent of the Indian Army personnel has landed in Bangladesh's national capital of Dhaka to partake in a multilateral military exercise from 4-12 April, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The contingent comprising of personnel ranking Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and the jawans of a battalion from the Dogra regiment of the Indian Army were welcomed by the Bangladesh Army upon arrival.
The members of the delegation also underwent an RT-PCR COVID-19 test thereafter.
The exercise called "Shantir Ogroshena 2021" (Front Runner of the Peace) is being held by Bangladesh to mark the birth centenary of revered Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh.
Other than the Indian Army delegation, personnel from the Royal Bhutan Army and the Sri Lankan Army are also partaking in the exercise whose theme is "Robust Peacekeeping Operations".
In addition to these, military observers from the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), Singapore, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey will also be in attendance throughout the exercise.
