Indian Railways Installs Machine To Give Free Platform Ticket At Delhi’s Anand Vihar In Exchange Of Squats

Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in a tweet on Friday (21 February) announced the opening of a novel ticket vending machine at Delhi’s Anand Vihar railway station.

Via this machine passengers will be able to get free platform tickets after they exercise by performing a certain number of squats.

As seen in the video, a passenger would have to perform squats by standing before the machine whose sensor after detecting the required number of sit ups will dish out a free platform ticket.

This is a first of its kind machine installed at a railway station in India and aims at encouraging fitness and exercise among passenger.

Such machines have also been installed at the Moscow railway station where passengers get a free train ticket if they perform a certain number of squats.
