The Indian Railways is planning to operate a Gurdwara circuit train for Sikh devotees to facilitate visit to their holy religious sites across India, reports ANI.

The circuit reportedly includes Sikh religious places like Gurdwara Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, Gurdwara Damdama Sahib in Bhatinda, Gurdwara Patna Sahib in Patna and Gurdwara Huzur Sahib in Nanded, and will be completed in 11 days.

According to the report, the train will have both sleeper and AC coaches and the fares will be decided by the operator. Passengers can even book food for their journeys in advance through the pantry car available during the journey.

Over the last few years, the Railways has been working towards developing such special circuit trains including ‘Ramayana Circuit’ and the ‘Buddha Circuit’.

The Railways has also drawn out plans to initiate the ‘Gandhi Circuit Special Train’ along with other circuits on the same lines.

Further, the Railways is also likely to lease out about 4000-5000 coaches to private operators for at least five years. The private players will subsequently be in-charge of maintenance of the railway coaches.
