India’s first woman Paralympic games medallist Deepa Malik joined the BJP on Monday (25 March), ANI has reported.

Malik has scripted history by winning the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympic games in shot
After joining the BJP, Malik praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work in the field of women empowerment and also commended his thoughts towards women. She added that the Prime Minister is appointing women to important portfolios and has also worked extensively for the Divyangs.
As per reports, Malik was officially inducted in the BJP in presence of senior BJP leaders including party president Amit Shah.
Party general secretary welcomed her into the party and called her an inspiration who has made India proud.
A few days ago former ace cricketer Gautam Gambhir joined the BJP in Delhi and in his subsequent address credited Prime Minister Modi’s vision for his decision.
