Having already clinched the title of being the biggest coach producer in the world, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai has achieved another achievement by rolling out it's 3,000th coach unit in 2019-20 in a span of mere 215 days, reports The Hindu.

The development gains significance as the same feat was accomplished last year in a span of 289 days. This 25.60 per cent decrease in time taken marks a massive improvement in operational efficiency and capability of the Indian Railways-owned coach maker.

It should be noted that in 2014, the same ICF took over 217 days to complete building of 1,000 coaches. The ICF had produced a total of 3,250 coaches last year, while it aims to manufacture more than 4,000 coaches this year.

The ICF has been pioneering the nation's efforts to upgrade and overhaul the rail experience, as it introduced to the nation the first ever coaches of the premium Tejas Express and Vande Bharat Express trains, and also the the much talked about Anubhuti, Deendayalu, and Antyodaya coaches.
