IRCTC Launches Shri Ramayana Yatra Under Govt's 'Deko Apna Desh' Initiative To Promote Religious Tourism

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched the ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ through the Deluxe AC Tourists train to promote religious tourism.

This tour will commence from the Delhi Safdarjang Railway Station on 7th November and cover all places of prominence associated with the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.

The entire tour will last for 17 days and its first stop will be at Ayodhya. Devotees can visit the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the Hanuman Temple and also the Bharat Mandir at Nandigram at this stoppage.

The visitors will subsequently halt at Sitamarhi and the tourists will be taken to the Ram-Janki temple in Janakpur in Nepal through road.

Thereafter, it will stop at several destinations such as Varanasi, Nasik, Hampi, Rameshwaram before returning to Delhi on the 17th day of the journey.

The Deluxe AC Tourist trains will have several features such as a couple of fine dining restaurants, shower cubicles, a modern kitchen, and foot massager amongst many other amenities, Economic Times reports.

This special tourist train has been initiated under the government’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ program that aims to promote domestic tourism.

The entire package price is Rs 82,950 per person and it covers journey in AC classes, accommodation in AC hotels, transfer and sight-seeing in AC vehicles along with a travel insurance and services provided by the tour managers of the IRCTC.
