The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has opened up a new executive lounge on the first floor of the platform number 1 of the New Delhi Railway Station.
This new facility is quite similar to the lounges seen in airports all across the country. The IRCTC already operates such executive lounges at stations in Agra, Sealdah, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Madurai.
The lounge offers several complimentary and paid services like TV, wi-fi connection, recliners, restrooms with wash and change facilities, newspapers, magazines, operational business centres with printer, computer, fax along with hot and cold beverages and multi-cuisine buffets as well.
It will function 24x7 and along with a nominal entry fee of Rs 149 plus taxes. An additional Rs 99 will be charged per hour of stay.
Separate bath facilities will be extended to both men and women with good toiletries like soap, shampoo, laundered towels, dental kit, and shower caps for a cost of Rs 200 plus taxes.
Meanwhile, vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffets will also be offered for costs of Rs 250 and Rs 385 per person, Financial Express reports. This is in fact the second executive lounge operational in New Delhi as the first one has already been functioning at the station since 2016.
