The Israeli Army attacked 100 Hamas targets in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday as a response to Palestinian rocket strike on Tev Aviv, reports Haaretz.

Two rockets were fired from the Gaza strip on Wednesday (13 March) with Tel Aviv as an intended target but landed in open areas. Israel’s Iron Dome Missile Defence System too was activated as a result.

Following Israel’s retaliation, the March of Return in Gaza announced that it was calling off its weekly protest along the Israel-Gaza border. Reports have claimed that a ceasefire has been put into place since 8 am on Friday (15 March).

Reports have claimed that the two Palestinian M-75 Fajr missiles were fired by ‘accident’ during maintenance work. This ‘accident’ though comes just three week ahead of Israel’s general elections.

Palestine though appears to have launched other rocket attacks, three of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome before they could hit the Israeli town of Sderot. One of the Palestinian missiles fell inside Gaza.
