Jammu And Kashmir: Four Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists, One A Pakistani, Killed In Pulwama Encounter

In an encounter in south Kashmir’s Pulwama, four militants belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed have been killed on Saturday (29 December). As a result, heavy clashes between security forces and locals are being reported. More than 30 civilians have been injured. Police sources have informed that one of the militants who was killed was a Pakistani.

After refusing the option of surrendering, the militants opened fire at security forces. The militants killed have been identified as Muzamil Ahmad Dar, Waseem Akram Wani, Muzamil Nazir Bhat.

A spokesperson of the police has been quoted by The Indian Express as saying, “From the incriminating material recovered at the site of the encounter, one terrorist is learnt to have been from Pakistan.”

The militants have been active since a year. They have been wanted for a series of terror crimes, attacks on security forces and atrocities on civilians, IGP (Kashmir) S P Pani said.

Treatment is being received by those injured with pellets. On Friday morning, there had been an encounter in Pulwama, making this incident the second within 24 hours.
