Lyricist Javed Akhtar on Monday (17 December) was schooled in basic law by a senior IPS officer after he tried to paint Jamia Milia Islamia’s protesting students as victims of unlawful police action.
After news broke of Jamia protesters brutally assaulting journalists during their so called “student protests”, a twitter user tagged “secular people” including Akhtar for not condemning such brutalities on the protesters’ part.
Akhtar who soon chose to respond, decided to avoid the issue and in turn attacked the Delhi cops for allegedly unlawfully entering the university.
According to the law of the land under any circumstances police can not enter any university campus with out the permission of the university authorities. By entering the Jamia campus with out permission police has created a precedence that is a threat to every university .

Akhtar also claimed that as per the Indian law, under no circumstances can cops enter a university campus without the explicit permission of its authorities. He thus claimed that Delhi police doing so has now set a dangerous precedent.
While many of Akhtar’s supporters began sharing his tweet, up stepped senior IPS officer Sandeep Mittal who mockingly addressed Akhtar as a “legal expert” and requested him to enlighten people on which section or act covers his said legal claim.
Dear Legal Expert

Please elaborate the law of land, the section number and name of the Act etc so that we are also enlightened.
Regards
Despite getting his lie called out, Akhtar did not proceed to either delete his tweet or post a clarification.
