Al-Badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam, along with another terrorist, has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Islam has been active since 2015. "The two militants killed in the Katpora encounter have been identified as Zeenat-ul-Islam and Shakeel Dar. Both were involved in several terror crimes," said a police official.
A category A++ militant, Islam switched from the Hizbul Mujahideen to the Al-Badr in November last following consensus between the outfits to solidify the Al-Badr.
The police official said that as the forces were conducting searches, the militants fired at them. Furthermore, as per policy, the terrorists were given an opportunity to surrender, but they continued to fire. In response to the firing, the forces retaliated killing the terrorists, reports Deccan Herald.
