The JNU Muslim Student Union has come out in support of the Tablighi Jamaat while demanding that the FIR against the Management be withdrawn, Times Now has reported.

As per the report, the Muslim student union released posters which read, “stand against Islamophobia, Muslims are not your scapegoat, stand with Tablighi Jamaat”.

The report adds that the poster also demands that the FIR filed against the Markaz chief and three others be withdrawn with the message - “revoke FIR against management”.

The Muslim student union is reportedly being supported by other students in the JNU except ABVP. The unions in support also include the left led AISA.

Yesterday (31 March) an FIR was filed against Maulana Saad and other Nizamuddin Markaz officials for violating government orders to restrict religious gatherings and taking safety measures for prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Maulana Saad who is also the head of a Tablighi Jamaat faction is currently absonding.
