Jodhpur Shocker: Man Kills Daughter To Sacrifice ‘What Was Dear To Him’ In Ramzan

In a shocking incident, a man in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district allegedly killed his four-year-old daughter to appease Allah during Ramzan, according to reports.

The Times of India reported that the man, Nawab Ali, who resides in Piparcity, was arrested on Saturday on charges of killing his daughter.

Ali slept on the terrace on Thursday night with his wife and two daughters. On Friday morning, the elder daughter was found dead with her throat slit. Her body was discovered on the ground floor.

The house was locked from inside and so the needle of suspicion fell on Ali. According to reports, Ali eventually admitted to the crime and said his objective was "to appease Allah”.

A report in Hindi daily Patrika said that Ali told police that his daughter was very dear to him. On Thursday, he took her around the city and even treated her to sweets and fruits. In the evening, he read ‘kalma’ to her. He said he “sacrificed” what was dear to him in order to appease his god, motivated by the desire to “save Islam”.

Police suspect Ali could be mentally unstable. Ali is a butcher by profession and runs a meat shop in the colony where he resides.
