Kamal Nath Promises EWS Youth 100 Days’ Work Per Year; Tweaks MP’s Industrial Policy To Favour Reservation

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has announced that his government has launched a scheme to ensure 100 days of employment every year for the youth from economically weaker sections (EWS) in urban areas, reports the Economic Times.

The Chief Minister made the announcement during his Republic Day address at Chindwara.

"We are going to implement a new scheme - Yuva Swabhiman Yojana, which will provide temporary employment and develop skills. Registration for this scheme will begin from 10 February," said the CM.

"Under this scheme, 100 days of employment will be provided to youth from economically weaker sections in urban areas. During their employment, the youth will be given skill training of their choice, so they can take avail of job opportunities," he added.

Nath said the government had also changed its industrial policy to create opportunities for the youth of the state.

"We have introduced a clause under the industries policy which says that establishments will receive state government incentives only if they hire 70 per cent of their staff from Madhya Pradesh," he said.
