The Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday (24 December) filed a charge sheet against 13 people at a Lucknow court in connection with the murder of the former Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari, reports Indian Express.
The Hindu leader was brutally killed at his residence in Lucknow’s Khurshed Bagh area on 18 October.
According to the report, the Additional Superintendent of Police, West (Lucknow) Vikas Chandra Tripathi said that the chargesheet was filed at a local court in the state’s capital against 13 persons. At present, eleven of those charge-sheeted are in jail while one person, Kaifi Ali, accused of helping the killers was granted bail by the court.
The police have charged Ashraf and Moinuddin, the killers of the Hindu leader, with murder.

Another accused Tanveer, a resident of Nepal who had allegedly provided shelter to the two killers, was absconding, the police said.
Following the death of the Hindu leader, the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had sanctioned a financial help of Rs 15 lakh and a house to the family of Kamlesh Tiwari.
