The K Chandrashekar Rao led TRS government in Telangana has decided to distribute gift packs to Muslims via 832 mosques in the state, reports The Hindu.
For the upcoming month of Ramzan, Telangana Government also decided to provide Rs 1 lakh to each mosque to host Iftars.
Officials of the state government have been directed to make special security arrangements in mosques and take steps to ensure facilities such as sufficient supply of drinking water are available.
Elaborate security arrangements will be made in places where night bazaars would be organised. Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar reviewed the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of Ramzan celebrations with senior officials.
The GHMC officials under the Commissioner M Dana Kishore were given instructions to improve roads leading to mosques and Idgahs, filling up potholes, replacement of manhole covers, removal of construction debris from road sides and medians.
