In a bid to provide more comfort to passengers during the summer season, the Indian Railways has installed a mist cooling system at the Mathura Junction railway station, reports Financial Express.
According to the details shared by Indian Railways, the newly installed mist cooling system reduces the temperatures at platforms by seven to eight degree celsius.
Unlike an air-conditioning system, a mist cooling system helps to keep outdoors cool at a fraction of the cost and can be installed easily.
As per the FE report, the Mathura Junction railway station was given a makeover earlier this year under the Railway Ministry’s station beautification and redevelopment programme. Under the project, new entry and exit gates were built at the Mathura Junction.
Besides, the first class waiting room at the station has also been completely revamped, with new benches set up for the passengers. Furthermore, the circulating area of the station has also been redeveloped.
The station now has dedicated booking hall, reserved lounge, fully revamped modern toilets, LCD display panels, AC waiting rooms and food court, Times Now has reported.
